Transdev is looking for Dispatchers in DeKalb, IL. Our dispatchers are an integral part of daily operations. Dispatchers assure all routes are filled as assigned and bus operators are provided with timely instructions and responses to requests for operational information throughout the day. This position also responds to customer and team inquiries. We hire individuals who make safety and customer service their top priorities.

Our Dispatchers are responsible for:
· Manage daily service by reviewing route performance, schedule adherence, and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service. Move rides and adjust schedules to account for same day service events.
· Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips and vehicle arrival times.
· Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
· Assure all routes are filled as assigned and support bus operators by providing timely instructions and responses to requests for operational information throughout the day
· Uses computer system to retrieve and update scheduled information. Uses reference material to quickly and accurately determine the best method to assist client
· Provides excellent customer service to passengers.
· Oversees service by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.
· Reconciles driver fare collections and validate scheduling information from the manifests.
· Communicate and record add-on rides and other same day service changes
· Other duties as assigned.
To qualify as a Dispatcher, you’ll need:
· High School diploma or GED equivalent; Associates or Baccalaureate preferred
· Customer Service and /or Call-Center experience required
· Computer literacy and ability to use scheduling software.
· Knowledge of basic and multi-task computer operation in a Windows environment
· Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, in the English language
· Ability to utilize a standard business telephone system for communication
· Must satisfactorily complete two-week training program.
· Requires Previous Supervisory Experience
· Excellent phone demeanor and customer service skills
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to interact with interdepartmental personnel
· Positive attitude and sensitivity in dealing with disabled customers
· Excellent verbal, interpersonal, judgment and problem-solving abilities
· Ability to perceive, react and communicate positively to needs of colleagues and customers.
· Meet all Qualifications and Job Requirements and understand all Roles and Responsibilities
· Customer service experience and uses excellent customer service skills.
· The candidate must have at least 1-2 years’ experience in the full-time workforce
