Overview: The Shop Supervisor helps the Maintenance Manager with day to day function such as scheduling and administering fleet maintenance, assisting in troubleshooting problems and repairs of equipment. This position is for our contract at Emory University.
Responsibilities:
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate Maintenance Technicians
- Repairs and maintains pickups, diesel engines, class 8 trucks, and trailers.
- Supervises maintenance operations. Plans and distributes the work.
- Delegates responsibilities as appropriate and monitors performance. While involved in reviewing personnel actions
- (e.g., hiring, promotions and discipline), all such actions are further reviewed and approved by higher management.
- Ensures compliance on a day-to-day basis with State, Federal and Company requirements.
- Works closely with location manager providing status of maintenance and budget requirements.
- Reviews repair orders.
- May order parts, and subcontract repair work.
- May arrange services for building and ground keeping.
- Identifies and recommends actions to improve operating efficiency.
- Completes special projects as assigned. Required to perform hands-on work activities.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; Technical degree preferred.
- At least three years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy-duty automotive and transit equipment/vehicles
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Computer literate
