Responsibilities:
- Supervises all vehicle operators to ensure proper scheduling of runs and efficient staffing of every route.
- Provides leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communication, appraisal, training, and coaching.
- Performs all vehicle operator safety evaluation ride checks, investigates and responds to situations, helps resolve operational issues and assists with transit passengers as necessary.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies including OHSA and DOT.
- Develop and deliver training to employees on OSHA, DOT, and company policies and procedures.
- Conduct monthly in-service safety meetings.
- Ensure all documentation, records and files related to safety training are submitted and maintained in accordance with federal, state and local requirements and Company policy.
- Assist in the new driver qualification process and the continued qualification of drivers to include drug/alcohol testing, annual reviews, physicals and all other required documentation.
- Respond and provide assistance in emergency situations.
- Provide leadership and a positive work atmosphere exhibiting professional conduct with open communication that promotes positive relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
- Prepare and present reports as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent and legally eligible to work in the United States
- 2 or more years of relevant leadership experience
- Excellent communication skills with ability to read maps, interpret transit operating rules and policies.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination, including a background and a drug test
- Must be able to read and speak the English language
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays, and be available to address safety issues by phone at all times
- Must be available for 24 hour emergency calls.
