Position Overview
The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, compiling, and preparing billable transit data for client invoicing. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work closely with both the general manager and client representatives. This is an office-based position with occasional travel and standard business hours with the potential for overtime during peak billing periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and compile detailed transit shuttle operation data from multiple sources
- Perform comprehensive data verification and validation to ensure accuracy of billable hours and services
- Create detailed Excel spreadsheets documenting shuttle routes, passenger counts, mileage, and billable services
- Generate monthly billing reports with precise calculations and clear presentations
- Reconcile discrepancies in transit data and maintain meticulous records
- Collaborate with the general manager to develop insights and improve data collection processes
- Prepare executive summaries and presentations of analytical findings
- Ensure compliance with client billing requirements and internal reporting standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business (Preferred) and or 2 years Transportation related experience Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field
- Experience in data analysis, preferably in transportation or service industries
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data modeling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL databases
- Knowledge of transportation management software
- Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI
- Understanding of transportation billing and invoicing processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Basic understanding of data cleaning and transformation techniques
- Ability to work with large datasets and perform complex calculations
