Body and Paint Technician
Join Transdev as a Body and Paint Technician and perform painting and body repair work on vehicles, as well as maintain and repair bus seating, flooring, windows, mirrors, and other glass.
Body and Paint Technician major responsibilities:
- Independently performs painting and body repair work on vehicles at a highly specialized, skilled level; estimates extent of damage and repair costs;
- Maintain and repair flooring;
- Perform highly detailed inspections of body damage;
- Estimate the extent of body damage and repair costs;
- Prep and paint vehicle surfaces and parts with a variety of paints;
- Fit and replace panels; repair body dents and scratches;
- Weld with gas and arc equipment;
- Fabricate new seat covering and repair and replace damaged seats, including belts and other seat attachments;
- Replace damaged windows, mirrors, and other glass;
- Maintain safe and organized work environment;
- Operate all tools and equipment necessary to complete the tasks assigned;
- Provide recommendations for tools and supplies that are needed for repairs;
- Keep records of repair work, time, and materials as directed;
- May provide emergency road service and conduct road tests;
- Perform other work as assigned or required.
Body and Paint Technician job requirements:
- Ability to accurately diagnose and repair a variety of body and interior damage without guidance;
- Knowledge of body repair methods;
- Skill in the use of welding equipment;
- Skill in the use of painting, sanding, and buffing equipment;
- Skill in the use of tools associated with body repair;
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills;
- Ability to perform written estimates:
- Ability to read, understand, and safely follow manuals;
- Successful completion of study program that focused on Collision Repair and Refinishing;
- Ability to pass and maintain two Collision Repair and Refinish (B2-B5) Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification;
- Must possess a valid driver’s license; current CDL or ability to obtain one;
- Must provide tools required to complete repairs.
- Be subject to a drug test
Pay rate: $32/hr
