Maintenance Technician B - (II)
Transdev in Lakewood, Washington is seeking an experienced B-Level Automotive Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain a fleet of gas-powered Ford cutaway type ADA vehicles along with all support vehicles. This includes the removal and replacement of engine, transmission, differential and other vehicle components.
- Inspects and tests equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown.
- Inspects, tests and aligns bus lights and maintain electrical systems and controls
- Balance and rotate wheels to minimize wear on tires at prescribed mileage intervals
- Perform mechanical repairs including the repair of engines, brakes, suspension, drivetrain and other required repairs. Disassembles, inspects, and replaces worn or broken parts. Fits and adjusts new or repaired parts.
- Completes preventative maintenance and safety inspections at company prescribed intervals. Test drive repaired equipment and perform road calls as needed.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of automotive repair experience or equivalent education and experience.
- ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided
- Mechanic’s Tool Set
- Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason
Shift Hours:
- Wed - Fri 1000-1830
- Sat - Sun 1400-2230
- Mon - Tues - OFF
Physical Requirements:
- Exposed to and subject to maintenance shop and environment working conditions on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work in a crouched position or on back beneath motor vehicle equipment subjected to dust, dirt and greasy conditions.
- Must be able to lift over 50lbs frequently
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to comply with all FTA and company standards as applicable current drug and alcohol regulations
- Must meet current DOT medical certification requirements
