Dispatcher
Description
- Consistently review routes and make adjustments for efficiency
- Maintain route productivity of spare use
- Respond to customer inquiries such as vehicle location, ETA, and ride times in a timely manner and maintain a standard call answer rate
- Schedule same-day changed transportation for customers, i.e. will-call service
- Monitor emails and handle as appropriate
- Provide excellent customer service
- Relay changes to carriers with updated manifests
- Schedule all the unscheduled trips no less the one hour prior to scheduled windows
- Complete all carrier transfers
- Perform data entry for non MDC manifests, as needed
- Ability to proficiently operate a windows-based computer with keystroke speed of no less than 35 corrected words per minute.
- Ability to communicate clearly in the English language.
- Able to utilize a standard business telephone.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
