Position Overview
Must be a skilled and experienced track laborer, building new track, maintenance and have knowledge of using basic track tools. Able to lift 50 lbs. and stand and work outdoors 8 – 12 hours a day. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
 
**This is a Full time, contract position—The position is scheduled to be done around mid-2026. The hourly rate for this position is $43.88/hour, and is part of the Union.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Must be a skilled track laborer.
  • Moves and installs various track components.
  • Lifts rail, etc.
  • This is a skilled position—Person must be a trained skilled Laborer.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years
  • must have knowledge of using track jacks and be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, including some night and weekend work.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Must be able to sustain alertness under tedious circumstances.
  • Must be able to work in various outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts including nights/weekends/possibly some holidays.
