GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
A Road Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of transportation services. They oversee and support drivers, monitor routes, and address any issues that arise during transit. This position requires a strong understanding of transportation regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
 
 
·         Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor policy matters. 
·         Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents. 
·         Organize and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents. 
·         Observe drivers on the road - correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations. 
·         Liaison between drivers and the organization in customer service concerns 
·         Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance - drug testing and recordkeeping. 
·         Drive routes periodically 
·         Assists in dispatching, driving, and miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed. 
·         Provides behind-the-wheel instruction according to corporate and client specifications in all aspects of vehicle operation and passenger transportation, including defensive driving, service area familiarization, passenger loading, unloading and securement.
  • Provides coaching and re-training as required on Drive Cam.

  • Conducts classroom training in accordance with corporate and location requirements.
  • Prepares and conducts monthly safety meetings.
  • All other tasks assigned by management. 
    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
     
    • Use of full ranges of hearing, speech, and vision 
    • Use of fingers (manual dexterity) handling paperwork 
    • Stoop, crouch, squat or kneel when performing inspections of any type. 
    • Bend at knee, hip, waist when performing duties. 
    • Stand while performing inspections and platform training. 
    • Be subject to wet, cold, or hot environmental conditions. 
    • Write reports in a coherent, legible way. 
    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent 
    • 5+ years of related work experience 
    • 2+ years of relevant leadership experience 
    • Valid Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and airbrake endorsements 
    • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills 
    • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office 
    • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. 
    • Work extended hours regularly, including Saturday and Sunday. 
    • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
