This position is open to all current Maintenance Supervisor I and Maintenance Supervisor II's (Car Equipment)
Responsibility:
This position provides a vital service to Car Equipment operations and contributes directly and indirectly to service improvement, quality and safety.
 
Quality Process Audits are performed on a weekly basis at the Maintenance, Overhaul and Support Shops to ensure that work is performed to established maintenance, overhaul and SMS work procedures and to determine if there are quality-related problems with the work. The results from these audits provide a general overview as to how well the shops are adhering to procedures and the quality of the work. Information from the audits is provided to the shop Superintendents and their staff immediately after the audit for their review and concurrence. This real-time notification allows the shops to make any necessary corrections or improvements without delay. This position will also investigate, and address quality-related issues presented by the shops, either material or procedural. It will also require the individual to perform calibrations, repairs and audits within the Gage Lab when required.
 
To effectively perform this function, we require a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor with extensive shop experience in car inspection and troubles/repairs. It is essential for this position to be designated as a Maintenance Supervisor II position to ensure complete autonomy while performing these audit functions.
 
Maintenance Supervisor II (Car Equipment) Salary Range:
1st Step – Entrance            $112,717
2nd Step – 7th Month         $114,313
3rd Step – 2nd Year           $118,338
Education and Experience:
This position is open to current Maintenance Supervisors (Car Equipment) employees who have a permanent status in title. Five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the maintenance department of a major railroad, maintaining and repairing multiple-unit rail cars, service cars, and locomotives; at least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
