Position Title: Staff Forecasting and Performance Analysis, Emerging Talent Intern (Summer) 
Hourly Rate:  $21.00 (Graduate) 
  
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location. 
  
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT: 
The Staff Forecasting and Performance Analysis team, part of the People Department’s Testing, Selection, and Classification Division, supports workforce planning by analyzing staffing trends and collaborating with the Exams team. This unit ensures that hiring sources are developed through timely and targeted assessments to meet the MTA’s operational needs. The intern will support the Exams team by analyzing attrition and staffing data to help forecast hiring needs and inform exam planning. They will assist in scheduling hiring sources by aligning assessment schedules with workforce demand. Their work will contribute to the strategic design of the MTA’s talent pipeline.
  
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Analyze attrition and staffing data
  • Support the development of hiring forecasts
  • Collaborate with the Exams team on assessment planning
  • Track and update exam schedules
  • Prepare visual reports and dashboards
  • Monitor candidate pipelines and hiring source availability
  • Participate in meetings with HR and operating departments
  • Assist in ad hoc data analysis and reporting tasks
  
PROJECTS: 
  • Analyze historical attrition and hiring trends to support the development of hiring forecasts.
  • Assist in planning and tracking exam schedules that align with projected staffing needs.
  • Contribute to reports and dashboards that monitor the availability and effectiveness of hiring sources.
  
 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must. 
     
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.  
     
  • The candidate should be able to analyze data and provide the best course of action to leadership. 
     
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively. 
     
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player. 
  
  
REQUIRED EDUCATION: 
  • Matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA 
  • Major(s) Preferred: Statistics, Data Analytics, Human Resources Management, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field.
