Position Objective:
Creates data reports, all ad-hoc, scheduled, contractually obligated, and routine reporting needs. Responsible for day-to-day procurement data and business intelligence efforts, delivering meaningful insight and strategic recommendations. Provides analysis that enables procurement to make data-driven decisions, improve current processes, contain spend, and make better sourcing decisions. Responsible for the utilization of the procurement 3rd party value/cost savings tracking tool and 3rd party spend management tool.
Responsibilities:
- Tactical responsibility for procurement spend analysis utilizing aggregation, normalization, and analysis of purchasing data to identify trends and prioritize value opportunities
- Executes methodology for value and cost savings tracking across all categories, utilizing a procurement 3rd-party value/cost savings tracking tool
- Utilizes a spend management tool, ensuring continued cleansing, modeling, updating, and enrichment of data gathering analysis methodologies
- Performs complex analytical tasks such as market analysis, cost modeling, financial risk management/hedging, and forecasting/planning
- Assists in the creation and optimization of sourcing strategies by working with the category management team to develop cost models (e.g., total cost of ownership and should cost) to drive spend management plans and cost reduction strategies
- Provides regular reporting and spend transparency across business units, key categories, and suppliers
- Utilize market intelligence to source, interpret, and disseminate business-critical data
- Identify and/or develop industry benchmarks for fact-based market assessments
- Creates procurement scorecards and dashboards for use by senior leadership, procurement personnel and internal business partners
- Provides reporting for procurement service level agreements and metrics to influence demand management
- Utilize software and other tools to automate processes and drive efficiencies in reporting
- Identifies purchasing initiatives for cost improvement, material reduction, and quality
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint with outstanding data structuring skills. General proficiency with MS Word.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to manage change through influence; capable of driving major commercial decisions across a diverse set of internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate, analyze, and manage large, diverse data sets
Required Education and Experience:
- BA/BS in Business Analytics, Statistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education from an accredited college and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree; and
- 3 years in a Finance, Supply Chain organization, or consulting environment
- Financial analytical experience required
Other Information
May need to work outside of normal work hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
Travel may be required to other MTA locations or other external sites.
