Salary Range: $134,390 – $151,189 (GEN009)
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supporting Bus Operations through the ongoing observation and evaluation of the business processes that inform all aspects of Enterprise Asset Management and all levels of performance analysis and reporting which includes managing and supporting users with the Business Intelligence tool used by DOB. Evaluates how all levels of staff, with an emphasis on the represented workforce, are using the operational support information systems to efficiently carryout their responsibilities to accurately record asset maintenance and repair actions. Manage a detailed Internal control guide for the staff to use. Identifies opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes using information technology and/or enhancements to operational support systems. Identifies deficiencies in business processes, support systems or information sources and recommends, develops, and implements a remediation pian. Ensures that depot staff are aware of changes to policies, procedures or features that impact their use of the information systems and information sources that impact their job responsibilities. Manage all open items with MTAIT. Manage the successful setup, configuration, and implementation of a new Enterprise Asset Management system in Buses.
Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate with Division and Depot management to schedule on site review and awareness sessions. Directs the activities of assigned staff in the business process evaluation and awareness sessions to evaluate and align information technology usage with essential business processes. Identifies opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes using information technology and/or enhancements to operational support systems. Identifies deficiencies in business processes, support systems or information sources and recommends. develops and implements a remediation plan. Manage a detailed Internal Control guide for the staff members to use which has all job assignments and user guides for functions performed by the team members.
- Manage and support users of DOB's Business Intelligence tool: Delegate and manage work performed by staff members. Design, Create and Publish Dashboards when necessary. Provide training and support to staff and user community with creating and publishing dashboards. Create and manage Data sources used to create dashboards. Create and maintain user accounts. Manage user groups, permission on projects, workbooks, and views. Manage ongoing maintenance of Tableau Servers (Production & TST & Development). Monitor server performance and recommend changes. Oversee all upgrades to Tableau Servers.
- Identifies and works with responsible areas to correct issues and design improvements that support accurate maintenance management Information and informed decision making. Ensures adherence to and compliance with corporate policy and strategy. Ensures that depot staff are aware of changes to policies, procedures or features that impact their use of the information systems and information sources that Impact their job responsibilities. Working with MTA IT, Buses departments and procurement on the planned work for the setup, configuration and implementation of the new Enterprise Asset Management System.
- Partners with internal/external stakeholders and leads the design and implementation of information data points and information system enhancements to improve operational efficiencies, information integrity and Enterprise Asset Management programs. Works with the Chief Officer, Business intelligence, to ensure that the ongoing review and awareness sessions effectively monitor and provide opportunities to improve performance and optimize resources.
- Provides key performance information to assist in the formulation of policies and procedures designed to improve the delivery of efficient and effective public transit bus service Identifies deficiencies in business processes that impede the ability to formulate data driven business decisions and makes recommendations on operational business practices.
- Provides managerial oversight to ensure that critical information system maintenance and support issues are recognized, understood, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner. Work closely with MTAIT managing all open items assigned to them, which includes resolving issues, enhancing existing systems, and implementing new systems and interfaces.
Education and Experience
- Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, or a related field and eight (8) years of related experience, at least four (4) years of which have been at a managerial/supervisory capacity; or
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Desired Skills
- In depth knowledge of maintenance procedures as it pertains to buses.
- Strong analytical mind and ability to identify and resolve application issues
- Knowledge of labor /union regulations.
- Experience in the design, configuration and implementation of an EAM computer management system is desired.
- Experience with Business Intelligence software and using it to make data driven business decisions.
