RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organize, and direct all activities within a subdivision responsible for the inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of rapid transit system contact rail, positive and negative power cables, third rail power connections, and associated equipment.
- Oversee managerial, supervisory, and hourly personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant third rail maintenance and repair operations.
- Coordinate with subordinate managers to manage the requisition, allocation, and distribution of materials and resources.
- Manage the subdivision’s capital and operating budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and alignment with financial objectives.
- Monitor and track expenditures to maintain fiscal accountability and support strategic financial planning.
- Assist the Assistant Chief Power Officer, Third Rail Operations in developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency and maintenance procedures.
- Respond to emergencies and oversee the inspection, repair, and timely restoration of power equipment on a 24/7/365 basis.
- Review Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) reports and ensure compliance with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Baccalaureate or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Eight (8) years’ experience, of which five (5) must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of rapid transit electrical power distribution systems, including maintenance, repair, reconstruction, and rehabilitation.
- Experience with third rail operations, track construction, and infrastructure-related project management.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
