Responsibilities:
This position encompasses supervisory work of varying degrees of difficulty and responsibility involving Fire Suppression/Plumbing work in the Transit Authority's subway, surface, and elevated structures.
Under direction, assists a higher-level supervisor. In addition, performs tasks such as the following:
- Supervises a group of subordinate supervisors in Structures - Group E, and V&D Specialties.
- Reviews stock availability list against usage reports and anticipated needs.
- Compiles and analyzes records.
- Conducts investigations and prepares reports.
- Performs inspection work on new & existing equipment and reviews inspection reports
- Must be Knowledgeable with NFPA & possess the following certificates within 30 days S12, F99 & F01
Education and Experience:
Five years of full-time satisfactory experience with a major railroad or transit authority as a plumber repairing and maintaining subway, surface and elevated structures, including stations, enclosures, buildings and shops; at least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
