COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $88,598 - $140,042
UTLO rate: $132,887
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage bus maintenance program of operating deport or central maintenance facility during assigned tour of duty. Ensure a safe facility and efficient work operation, enabling the depot to provide a safe, clean & reliable mode of transportation for the riding public. Implements personnel schedule variations, maintains acceptable bus availability, and administers discipline and labor relations activities. Directs hourly staff in day-to-day Facilities and equipment maintenance activities. Within Maintenance, responsible for planning & managing research into bus technology for improving safety, reliability, customer satisfaction and productivity; assist in developing and implementing productivity improvements and promoting safe working conditions by analyzing work process, tools & equipment. Assist or develop bus specifications and inspect vehicles and vendor work; perform research and development for new vehicle technologies. Develop and/or revise maintenance procedures and bills of materials to incorporate improved work practices and new technology; assist legal and conduct accident investigations. Develop system-wide fleet plans and coordinate warranty work. Provide maintenance and technical training to maintenance personnel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Six (6) years of related experience, including a minimum of two (2) years of managerial/ supervisory experience.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of vehicular maintenance operations, including personnel development, work prioritization overtime distribution and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of heavy-duty revenue vehicles, new bus technologies, and the maintenance procedures/standards required to maintain them, including an understanding of specifications.
- Knowledge of diesel and compressed natural gas engines, fuel systems and emissions controls, mandated emission requirements and engine configuration procedures. Knowledge of design, manufacturing processes, product testing and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to design testing systems and procedures based on engineering specifications.
- BA in engineering or related field preferred.
