Responsibilities
The position of Chief Officer, Field Operations is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling field operations and administrative activities across Subdivisions A, B, and C. This role communicates through the layers of management, knowing when to escalate matters to Leadership and how to communicate uncertainty. It establishes divisional goals, translates Executive Leadership’s vision into innovative solutions, and ensures workforce accountability by implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance safety, proficiency, and workforce availability. The Chief Officer allocates resources effectively, balances stakeholder interests, and supports system expansion, recovery, and resiliency efforts, as well as the Capital Program and growing ridership. The position also spearheads new initiatives affecting transit operations and safety, and ensures thorough investigations of incidents, fostering a cooperative labor/management environment.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Business Management, Public Administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited college may be considered in lieu of a degree
Twelve (12) years of related experience, of which five (8) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
