Responsibilities
 The position of Superintendent, Special Operations to support and collaborate closely with the Senior Management and other internal units, will be responsible for the full oversight of all data collection efforts for the Department of Operations Planning to reduce fare evasion on subways. The Superintendent adheres to policies and procedures set forth by the Customer Service & Operations Support group to monitor and ensure that data collection efforts are sound and valid while identifying trends within the subway system. Since the workforce is charged with collecting data both with electronic devices and manually, the validation portion is highly sensitive, and the Superintendent must ensure ongoing training and compliance with current field methodologies and continue to establish new strategies to provide accurate data to Strategic Initiatives who ultimately report Subway Fare Evasion to the MTA Board. In addition, a new real time video feed directly from each Station via the RCC has been enhanced and covers most subway stations whereby the Superintendent must validate data by watching real time feeds in an effort improve data quality and to provide information to both Security and Subway personnel. The Superintendent now leads a team of hourly and supervisory unionized employees, managers, and Professional & Technical employees to reinforce NYCT’s fare evasion efforts. The Superintendent advises senior management concerning any fare evasion trends while working closely with Strategic Initiatives and the Department of Security and other Operations Planning groups to collect data used for reporting purposes.
 
Compensation
Salary Range – $84,233- $119,240
UTLO Compression Rate - $125,011
 
Education and Experience  
A Baccalaureate degree or a satisfactory equivalent of five (5) years of full-time professional work experience in large rapid transit operations, two (2) years of which must have been in a managerial/ supervisory capacity
