Summary
The Interborough Express (IBX) will provide a transformative new transit connection between Brooklyn and Queens by supplying a direct rail link between Sunset Park and Jackson Heights in approximately 30 minutes, with service projected every five minutes. 19 stations are planned over an existing 14-mile rail corridor, allowing for connections to 17 subway lines, 50 bus routes, and the Long Island Rail Road.
The Manager of Program Support will perform various support functions for the Interborough Express project, support timely issue identification and decision-making, and facilitate efficient, high-quality performance by the project team.
Responsibilities
The Manager of Program Support will implement administrative functions, including but not limited to the following areas: correspondence, schedule and calendar management, equipment/supplies management, event management, timecard/job charge management, logistics and space management (including field offices), training/travel requests, budget administration, procurement requests, and/or payment coordination.
Support coordination with parties in C&D, third-party consultants, and third-party contractors.
Manage and support improvements in developing, analyzing, reporting, and maintaining data and related systems supporting project management, business unit, or departmental operations.
Identify issues, provide recommendations, and support resolution in coordination with senior management.
May support data and document management activities for project management systems.
The Manager of Program Support's primary responsibilities are enumerated above; however, the IBX project will require team members to frequently participate in activities outside of their primary functions and coordinate with team members in a variety of project roles– this will be the norm and not the exception.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, or a related field.
Must have a minimum of six (6) years of related experience.
Competences:
Experience in fast-paced work environments while balancing competing priorities is preferred.
Experience with MTA policies, procedures, and processes related to departmental operations and administration preferred.
Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with an aptitude for managing detailed analytical work.
Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and team members.
Excellent problem-solving, listening, and prioritization skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Teams, or similar applications.
Proficiency in PeopleSoft, Power BI, and project management applications (such as Asite, PSR, Unifier, and Visio) is preferred.
