COMPENSATION
Salary Range: Min. $113,172 - Max. $160,206 
Compression Rate: $162,080 - This is a compression rate title
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The selected incumbent is responsible for managing and monitoring significant events requiring response from Maintenance of Way (MOW) subdivisions. The position handles all emergency response for MOW at our Control Center and is an integral part of our daily operation. This critical function is a knowledge-based managerial role where the incumbent’s knowledge should span across all of MOW’s subdivisions, with a strong emphasis on issues along the right-of-way. The selected incumbent will be responsible for accurately evaluating situations and to dispatch MOW emergency response personnel to facilitate a timely resolution to incidents that delay train service to minimize the inconvenience to our customers. This is an essential position within the Operations Control Center (OCC) that interfaces with every division of Subways to provide notification of incidents and to ensure that senior management, division Chiefs and staff members are provided with accurate and timely information. The incumbent must provide daily reports to upper management that details the history of incident response. It requires interacting with OCC personnel, various NYCT Departments, NYPD liaisons and with NYC/NYS Emergency Response agencies.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A High School Diploma and ten (10) years ‘of full-time related experience, of which five (5) must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity. 
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • In depth knowledge of the MOW Operations Center and the OCC.
  • Knowledge of the operations of other divisions in Subways.
  • Extensive knowledge of the subway system infrastructure, power operations, and emergency/safety procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of NYCT rules & regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of Subways & MOW policies and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the propensity to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to make sound and effective decisions during an emergency situation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
