OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
 
The Fleet Technologies Group leads a portfolio of innovative projects focused on enhancing operations, customer communications, and depot operations. Working alongside us, our sister group—The Zero Emission Fleet Transformation (ZEFT)—is driving the ambitious transition to an all-electric bus fleet by 2040, ushering in a more sustainable future for transit. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Automatic camera enforcement (ACE) seeks to use cutting edge camera, license plate recognition, and AI/ML technology to identify violations of traffics laws such as bus lane, bus stop or double-parking infractions. 
  • Analyze data from installed ACE systems to evaluate the performance of associated artificial intelligence models and extract actionable insights.
  • Join field exercises to gather evidence for subsequent review and analysis.
  • Create charts and diagrams illustrating system functionality.
  • Attend project meetings and provide input where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to coordinate activities.
  • Compile reports using data from multiple, diverse sources.
  • Document analytical processes and procedures.
  • Develop scripts for data analysis and transformation.
 
PROJECTS:
 
The ACE program comprises three core sub-tasks that interns will actively support:
  • Requirements Compliance – oversee and inspect the equipment during installation and then later analyze operational data to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Operational Metrics – Aggregate these data, assist in generating performance reports, and support troubleshooting efforts as needed.
  • Financial Reporting – Consolidate financial data from operational activities and contribute to the preparation of accurate financial reports.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude – Strong mathematical skill and intuitive problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer Programming – Medium to strong coding skills, with proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., JavaScript or Python).
  • Relational databases – Practical experience working with SQL and relational database structures.
  • Business intelligence tools – Experience using at least one BI platform, such as Tableau or Power BI.
 
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA
  • Major(s) Preferred: Data Science, or any Computer Science / Engineering with a focus on Data Science, or related field.
