Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for a variety of tasks within Station Signage’s sign production and installation shop. Responsibilities will include the following:
  • supervising, planning, and troubleshooting signage projects for NYCT stations and facilities
  • reviewing, verifying, and processing employee payroll, timekeeping, and attendance
  • administering and documenting employee violations and disciplinary actions
  • monitoring and processing of IOD cases
  • coordinating and monitoring employee training, certifications, and refresher programs
  • overseeing porcelain enamel signage deliveries, preparation, and installation
  • conducting station signage surveys and inspections for proper safety requirements
  • performing administrative duties such as reports, record management & correspondence
  • the supervision and guidance of Level I Supervisors to ensure safe and efficient operations
Additional Requirements:
  • May be required to work nights
  • Required to supervise and participate in snow duty and other operations, including staffing, deployment, and emergency response.

Compensation:

Maintenance Supervisor Level II (Str D Sheet Metal) Salary Range:

1st Step – Entrance $110,381

 2nd Year                $111,951

 3rd Year                 $115,888

Education and Experience:

Five years of full-time satisfactory experience with a major railroad or transit authority as a sheet metal worker repairing and maintaining subway, surface and elevated structures, including stations, enclosures and related buildings and shops; at least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Desired Skills:
  •  Knowledge of station signage fabrication and installation procedures
  •  Strong verbal and written communication skills
  •  Working knowledge of all NYCT Rules, regulations, and safety procedures
  •  Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Selection Method: Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience and interview.
