Job Type: Full-Time
Duties: Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining complex web applications for the WebMD web site. Design and develop aspects of a full implementation, and take the product from concept to production. Perform analysis of requirements to drive further clarification. Propose, define and document sound design/refactoring options and alternatives. Create sound pre-development estimates and assign tasks to other developers. Develop application code and unit tests, and integrate with other WebMD applications as necessary. Deliver integrated application components to Testing and Quality Assurance team and support delivery to Production environment. Ensure that application code is of high quality by participating in code reviews, writing automated test harnesses, assisting in the deployment of code onto the pre-production and production environments. Assist in mentoring junior staff.
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Technology, Engineering, or related technical field, followed by six years of progressive, post baccalaureate work experience in job offered or six years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in an application design/development or related occupation. Experience with the following required: Oracle, including developing/updating tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures in SQL; Designing complex, high traffic web-based applications using object-oriented design and patterns; Frameworks, including Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Rest API, SOAP Services, Hibernate, and Liferay; Development experience in Java SE; Setting up Apache web server and Tomcat on Windows and Linux systems; Linux systems and shell commands; and, Application packaging and deployment tools, including Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, and uDeploy.
