Education: A graduate with an advanced medical degree (PharmD, RN, NP, PA, PhD) or a Bachelor of Science degree (life sciences, public health, or clinical sciences) with relevant work experience  

Experience: 2+ years

Position Requirements:

  • High degree of proficiency applying therapeutic knowledge to successfully review large library of medical content and determine appropriate information to aggregate for new programs based on program details
  • High degree of proficiency using PowerPoint
  • Excellent editorial skills in developing multimedia, text, and live Medical Education activities; familiarity with AMA style
  • Knowledge of ACCME standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills to independently and quickly deal with unforeseen issues to ensure that timelines are consistently met
  • Experience as a medical writer and/or editor for a medical education/communications company, professional medical publisher, or academic institution/hospital/university center, medical society is a plus
  • Excellent computer skills that include working remotely on shared networks and cloud-based systems, and a high degree of proficiency using Google and Microsoft Office suite required; web-based data and document sharing sites and authoring tools (SharePoint, Read Cube, Accent Library) a plus
  • Experience with web-based project management tools (such as Workfront) highly preferred
  • High professionalism and easy rapport in building collaborative work relationships

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support content development staff to develop accredited content for projects in multiple formats (multimedia, text, and live) for physicians (CME), nurses (CE), and pharmacists (CPE) that is clinically appropriate, instructionally sound, adherent to industry regulations, and completed within budget and time scale to the highest quality

    • Tasks include, but are not limited to:

      • Collaborate with internal team members to obtain details and direction for new assignments prior to initial development support

      • Use Medscape templates, slide libraries, and tools to aggregate new data/references or existing Medscape educational materials into an initial PowerPoint presentation for multimedia programs based on content focus, learning objectives, activity goal, target audience, and product specifications

      • Support referencing of PowerPoint presentations including formatting according to Medscape's style guide and tagging in Medscape's reference library

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of important clinical issues, relevant literature, clinical practice guidelines, approved therapeutic drugs and regimens, and therapeutic pipelines

  • Learn new therapeutic areas as needed based on project assignments
