Associate Producer, Video Team

The WebMD Video Team produces award-winning medical and lifestyle content. We deliver leading health and wellness video to consumers, physicians, and healthcare professionals around the world. Our balanced mix of innovative video offerings blend news, features, and original series. The Associate Producer assists the timely, compelling, and accurate creation of video content across 100+ topic areas, including lifestyle/wellness as well as medical conditions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist all aspects of the video production process from start to finish.
  • Find creative ways to communicate health information, making even dry topics interesting for a variety of audiences.
  • Assist with preproduction before shoots, and on set during filming.
  • Communicate between production team, editor team, and studio team efficiently.
  • Research for medical conditions as well as lifestyle/wellness information for scripts.
  • Scout talent for expert videos, as well as subjects for personal stories.
  • Communicate and work with production companies, freelancers, and vendors to manage the filming and delivery of videos.
  • Work with other departments in editorial, news, social media, to support collaboration.
  • Organize and media manage assets and metadata for videos and projects.
  • Responsible for upholding WebMD’s credibility in the delivery of trustworthy concepts and video products content that are in accordance with editorial and Best Practice policies

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or experience within journalism, multimedia, or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of assisting the production of digital video
  • Thorough understanding of digital video products, tools and specifications and familiarity with non-linear editing
  • Copyediting and Editor supervision experience
  • Research experience finding stories and subjects
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work
  • Detail oriented and highly organized

 



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broadcast writing and field production experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Health and Wellness and/or Lifestyle writing and editing experience
  • Digital video package scripting and interviewing skills for broadcast/video production; specifically within Health and Wellness

 Travel:

  • Potential for travel less than 10% of your time
