Are you looking for an opportunity to join an editorial services team? Medscape Education is seeking a passionate, adaptable, and team-oriented Editorial Coordinator to support our content development department. As an Editorial Coordinator you will seek out, research, and/or coordinate the supporting editorial materials used to create our content across multiple teams and medical topics internationally. By joining Medscape Education, the leading provider of online medical education for clinicians (medscape.org), you will help implement and contribute to the creation of editorial processes; enter our portfolios, programs, and projects into our program management system; manage our libraries and database; and interact with vendors to obtain/purchase new assets. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Enter our portfolios, programs, and projects into our program management system to ensure that timelines are correct and that projects can be tracked
  • Research, purchase, catalog, and/or distribute our reference materials, images, copyrighted materials, research study reports and publications via various cloud-based databases
  • Purchase new assets as required, and log and track their invoices in our system
    • Interact with rights holders to obtain copyright licenses to reuse copyrighted material
  • Update our editorial databases and processes, and help educate other teams on the role of the Editorial Coordinator, including educating staff on use of the systems and processes for obtaining new materials
  • Work with in-house teams to lightly edit/format collateral documents; light PowerPoint formatting as required
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need to Succeed (Requirements):

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered
  • 2-3 years' experience in project management/coordination, or as an editorial assistant preferred
  • Spent at least 1 year working as a project coordinator and/or as an editorial assistant required
  • Good computer skills that include working on shared networks and cloud-based systems, and a high degree of proficiency using G-Suite (Gmail, Google Drive) and Microsoft Office suite required (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); and web-based data and document sharing sites and authoring tools (ReadCube, SharePoint Online, Accent Library) a plus
  • Experience with web-based project management tools (such as Workfront, MS Project) a plus
  • Excellent verbal communication, writing, and grammar skills
