WebMD is looking for a seasoned, versatile content strategist to help develop and implement strategy across our consumer health verticals. The ideal candidate is a sharp, focused, curious individual who can independently lead content strategy projects, earn buy-in from stakeholders, and help implement processes and governance to scale strategies efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ideate new content that engages both broad and niche audiences
  • Help develop in-depth audience insight through user profiles and other audience analysis
  • Make research-informed data-based recommendations for content development
  • Conduct competitive content analyses
  • Audit content to identify engagement, SEO, and other performance improvements
  • Manage multiple project components with strict attention to detail and deadlines
  • Inform governance models that help deliver a quality experience
  • Collaborate with team leaders on identifying and implementing growth strategies
  • Provide guidance across teams on strategic direction, best practices, and content rules

 

Requirements/Skills

  • Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with additional commensurate experience
  • 4 years in digital media, with track record of successful content ideation and delivery
  • 3 years of experience analyzing data to understand and better engage online visitors
  • Intermediate-level understanding of SEO tools and best practices
  • Direct experience working on content strategy or design
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to drive projects involving multiple teams
  • Ability to work independently and to fluidly switch gears to work collaboratively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience researching and analyzing diverse audiences and their needs
  • Ability to manage processes involving multi-team workflows
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Google Office, analytics tools, SEO tools

 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Background in consumer health (conditions + wellness/lifestyle)
  • Master’s in journalism, communications, marketing creative writing, or MBA
  • Comfort and experience with both big picture and project-based strategy
  • Ability to train peers in processes, concepts, and tools
  • Working understanding of UX, marketing, and website personalization concepts
  • Experience with project/task management software (e.g. JIRA, Workfront)
  • Experience with CMS/publishing
  • Enthusiasm about identifying improvements and facilitating efficiency
