Responsibilities: 

The right candidate for this job will be a versatile content manager and editor who will support content planning and processes, maintain and improve content management systems, and recruit and maintain relationships with external content contributors.  

The ideal candidate is a sharp, focused, detail-oriented and curious individual with strong communication and collaboration skills. This person will: 

  • Research, develop, edit, copyedit and manage approximately 400 disease/condition monographs in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Dermatology, and other specialties as required
  • Recruit, engage, and maintain regular communication with clinician authors and section chiefs
  • Perform literature reviews and evaluate medical studies and guidelines
  • Update disease/condition and other content to ensure accuracy and currency
  • In conjunction with clinician authors, develop new medical slideshows and other image-rich content; update and edit as needed.
  • Edit and publish US and international medical guidelines across all specialties
  • Manage relevant scheduling, analytics, and projections for marketing; communicate that information in editorial/marketing meetings
  • Update content for search engine optimization

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, science/medical writing or similar area, or equivalent years of relevant experience (required)
  • 5+ years of experience in medical editing, research, and/or writing
  • Excellent knowledge of medical nomenclature
  • Excellent copyediting skills
  • History of consistently delivering on deadlines
  • Excellent time-management skills, organization and project management skills
