Job Description

The Video Production Manager is responsible for the project management of Medscape and WebMD video programs throughout all stages of development, overseeing projects from their inception until they are complete and posted on our website. The Video Production Manager assists the Video Production Supervisor in all areas and aspects of production as needed and as part of a small but dedicated team. This role involves coordination and tracking of project tasks with the appropriate personnel, both internally and externally, to ensure that the objectives of the project are accomplished within the projected timeframe and budget. The Video Production Manager must possess exceptional communication skills and multi-tasking abilities to simultaneously manage many projects and coordinate with many people.



  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills to handle internal clients and communicate with various production teams, both internal and external
  • Must understand pre-production, production and post-production workflows of audio/video programs
  • Liase with other members of Operations to resolve any queries or conflicts in order to achieve a balance between production requirements and service excellence
  • Provide administrative support for invoicing, payment processing, and tracking finances
  • Assign producers to shoots using internal system (Workfront, Google Calendars)
  • Update budget information for each recording when necessary
  • Schedule and run status calls with internal and external teams, ensuring that productions are on schedule
  • Opportunities to travel in the role


Qualifications / Skills

  • Ability to quickly identify potential production issues and address them accordingly
  • At least 7 years managing and/or coordinating video production programs
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Excellent time-management skills, organization and project management skills
  • Experience with a program/project management system (such as WorkFront, SalesForce, or similar)
  • Knowledge of online publishing, and/or audiovisual production, processes and procedures
  • Must be able to communicate to various teams regarding required deliverables
  • Must be able to manage high volume of requests with grace under pressure
  • Proven track record of problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork, negotiation, conflict management, adaptability
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills as well as video production and post-production knowledge)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar), MD Office (Word, Excel), Workfront or equivalent project management/scheduling software, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere, Zoom
  • Medical knowledge or prior experience with medical publishing preferred but not needed
