The Consumer Insights Department
The Consumer Insights team works as part of Logitech’s design group driving the creation of new and innovative products from inception to launch. As an in-house insights team, we provide qualitative, quantitative and strategic support for our business partners. Within the insights department we have three functions: People Insights, User Learning, and Functional Experts (who amplify the visibility and impact of the CI team’s work). The People Insights team are focussed on keeping the business teams grounded in the reality of how people know, shop for, and use our products, and in helping surface unmet needs relevant to the categories where we play.
Overall, you will contribute to the design of comprehensive consumer and user research plans and implement studies to address those needs. As such, you will:
Work with the global Gaming group to gather user insight that drives business strategy and new product innovation ideas.
Provide a holistic understanding of user behavior and motivations across markets, that can be leveraged in each phase of the design process and the user journey.
Recognise and describe important trends that will affect the category in the future.
Collaborate with the Global Insights Lead to define and manage the research plan for the category. Define what we actionably need to learn, not just react to research requests.
Drive awareness and usage of user insights throughout the organization, to fuel Logitech’s people-centric culture.
Create strong collaborative relationships with research partners, ensuring high quality of work, value for money and articulation of insight and implication for Logitech business.
Find new opportunities to leverage data (internal and external to Logitech) to get more complete, faster, more cost effective ways to inform our business partners about our users.
Conduct research yourself when appropriate: moderate interviews with users, analyse large data sets, set up and maintain panels of people in conjunction with our User Learning Research Center which will help keep us grounded in the user perspective.
Coordinate, conduct and monitor recruitment activities to ensure top notch respondents.
Write clear, insightful, actionable reports and documents that can showcase what we are learning about users.
Collaborate closely with analysts, designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure insights are understood and implemented.
Deliver reports and presentations with confidence to all levels of the business.
Maintain accurate and complete filing of all insight and project work
6+ yrs. User Insights experience preferably with a mix of both quantitative and qualitative methods
Strong project management and organization skills, with experience leading studies through each project stage
Deep experience with primary research: writing questionnaires and discussion guides, setting up sampling plans, testing programmed online surveys, monitoring studies during fieldwork, planning analysis and creating banner and tab plans, checking data tables, creating and populating slides to report out research findings
Proven experience with leveraging secondary research reports to answer business needs.
Familiarity with traditional and non-traditional research methods. Interest in and experience with progressive methods of obtaining fresh user insights
Strong analytical skills; keen eye for detail; experience and desire to work with data visualization, data mining tools
Expertise in synthesizing information into a cohesive story with prescriptive implications/action plans. The best candidate will be curious, insightful, creative, with simple but powerful writing skills
Ideally has experience with, but must have a passion for, consumer electronics and the future of the technology. A passion for Gaming is a plus
Strong oral and written communication skills
