The Lead Software Engineer, leads, and manages a group of highly competent pc software/firmware engineers. As the champion of the software discipline, you will continuously drive the improved capabilities in the software area. Through ingredient projects, collaborations with other Logitech engineering groups, and a constant search for new technologies, techniques and tools to drive the competitiveness of the Blue products of the future. We’re a small team of passionate product makers with backgrounds from both the audio industry and consumer electronics. The ideal candidate will combine experience in the relevant industries with a passion for managing the creation of innovative and visionary products. Candidates should have substantial experience in managing start-to-finish product development projects, with consistent collaboration with the company's engineering team, operations team, and product managers as well as our China based manufacturing partners.
Leadership skills and responsibilities:
Functional excellence. Drive continuous improvement and excellence of the software engineering discipline within blue, developing performance, ways of working, tools etc.
Driving innovation with in the software engineering discipline area.
Networking with other groups within Logitech, to enable knowledge transfer and getting new ideas, collaborate on early projects etc. Networking to leverage the knowledge of the bigger organization. Traveling will be required.
Comfortable, driving ingredient projects, and early concepting studies with few or vague and changing requirements.
Driving discipline level design reviews.
Line management, workload planning of a group of highly qualified pc software/firmware engineers.
Be hands on, participating in programs playing the role of an software engineer.
Software Engineering skills and responsibilities:
Supporting product ideation and conceptualization
Cross platform development
Standard development IDEs (Visual Studio / XCode)
Revision Control (Git)
Familiar with CMake
Experience working directly with international subcontracting vendors.
A software engineering degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of management or leadership experience and new product development experience.
10+ years of experience in software engineering
Direct experience in working with, communicating with China contract manufacturers
Proven ability to operate effectively within a small and rapidly growing group, as well as in a complex organization
software engineering degree
Excellent organizational and management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience working in Logitech is preferred
