Inventory Analyst

The Role

We are seeking an Inventory Accounting Analyst to join our accounting team based in Newark, California. The candidate will report to the Senior Manager External Reporting/Inventory. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in accounting, analysis, and reporting inventory-related reserves: E&O and warranty accrual.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and collaborate internally to understand and identify potential E&O considerations

  • Perform excess and obsolete analysis on a quarterly basis 

  • Prepare warranty accrual (short-term and long-term) on a quarterly basis

  • Improve inventory accounting models regularly 

  • Audit defense during annual audit and quarterly reviews

  • Coordinate and manage requests from external auditors

  • Assist with M&A transactions and related SOX controls

  • Assist with the execution, maintenance, and updating of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 processes and procedures

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives and support ad-hoc requests


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA preferred but not required

  • 2+ years of public accounting experience and/or relevant industry experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with Tableau is a plus 

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, with high standards for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Self-driven, ability to work independently and in a team environment
