The Role:

An exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a fast paced and dynamic Finance function. Reporting to the General Ledger Manager, this role will assist with all month-end/ quarter-end accounting and reporting tasks for the entities assigned, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reports.

  • Prepare and reconcile GL transactions related to relevant entities' balance sheet and income statement, within the appropriate time-frame, per the Controllership Fiscal Calendar.
  • Perform analytical reviews to verify account reasonableness during the month as well as at month end: investigating fluctuations versus actual before submitting results.
  • Liaise with Local Business Partners to ensure that monthly figures are reported accurately.
  • Key finance control owner/ reviewer.
  • Key support for Internal and External Audit activities.
  • Preparation and peer review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Preparation of Quarterly Corporate Schedules
  • Preparation of Statutory Accounts
  • Build strong relationships and foster teamwork within department and with key Stakeholders
  • Involvement in project work as required.
  • Perform adhoc tasks/ assignments as required.

Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviours to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 2/3 years experience in financial accounting and analysis or related business experience.
  • Accounting Qualification: CPA, ACCA, ICA, ACA or equivalent
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and to influence internal and external business partners.
  • Excellent communication skills: the ability to present data appropriately to different levels within the business and externally.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical/ problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel skills (VLookups, pivot tables) etc.

In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:

  • Ability to build strong partnerships and to influence internal and external business partners.
  • Excellent communication skills: the ability to present data appropriately to different levels within the business and externally.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical/ problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel skills (VLookups, pivot tables) etc.
  • Ability to be an innovative problem solver, anticipate risks and opportunities, and autonomously strive for continuous improvements is required.
  • Oracle experience is a plus.
