Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within budget. You'll work collaboratively with various teams, including designers, developers, content creators, and stakeholders, to ensure successful project outcomes. While we prefer candidates with 1-3 years of experience, we are open to recent graduates who demonstrate strong potential and a passion for project management.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with our client subject matter experts.
  • Conduct and support user research activities throughout the project lifecycle, including usability testing, user interviews, site visits, surveys, and task and workflow analysis.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative user research data using HCD principles to identify user needs, pain points, behaviors, and mental models.
  • Translate user research findings into actionable insights and user personas that inform design decisions and prioritize features.
  • Develop data visualizations and reports that effectively communicate user research findings to stakeholders and design teams.
  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to integrate user research insights into all phases of the project, including ideation, prototyping, testing, and iteration.
  • Stay up-to-date on HCD methodologies and best practices for user research data analysis.
  • Facilitate project meetings, manage communication with stakeholders, and track project progress using project management tools.
  • Identify and manage project risks, develop mitigation plans, and report on project status to stakeholders.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure deliverables meet accessibility standards and user needs.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of project documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging technologies in project management.
 

Qualifications:

  • Typically, 1-3 years of experience in project management, preferably within an Agile/Iterative development environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Iterative methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Human-Centered Design principles and user experience (UX) best practices.
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG) and best practices for creating inclusive digital products.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaborative and persuasive skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel and meet with our client-partners across the State of Maryland
 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in Agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience with user research and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
