The Transportation management division, located in Latham, NY, has been providing innovative school transportation management software, hardware, and consulting for more than four decades.

We are seeking a Hardware Product Analyst who can provide exceptional business value and enhance our best of breed hardware solutions. The strongest candidates will have solid hardware expertise and have a passion for devising cutting edge technologies to meet market needs.

Responsibilities

  • Research, identify, and test suitable mounting solutions, cradles, and tablets for installation in school buses and alternate vehicles such as suburban’s, vans, etc
  • Assess product validity using both internal and external benchmarks via engineering assessments, thorough product quality tests, customer field trials, and analysis of returns.
  • Negotiate with manufacturer and fulfillment partners to secure the best possible prices and terms for hardware purchases.
  • Act as the point of contact for sales, operations, providing guidance and support to address hardware-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on hardware installation procedures, troubleshooting techniques and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, operations, product owners to ensure successful hardware implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to hardware components.
  • Occasional travel to client sites and tradeshows required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Continuously research and keep up-to-date with emerging trends in technology, manufacturing capabilities, vendor products, and market demands of student transportation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on hardware support and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware components and systems, including microcontrollers, and wireless communication technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing hardware-related projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of vehicle and transportation industry standards and regulations is a plus.
