Technical Product Manager, Enterprise Justice

As Tyler Technologies’ Courts & Justice Division continues to grow, we seek to set up a new team responsible for defining and bringing to market high-quality enterprise API, data, and integration solutions.
Technical Product Management will be integral to the Product Management team as we move into a technology-led strategy for Courts & Justice. Technical Product Managers are an essential component of that team. This function has a deep understanding of how to bring the best of our products together, including a deep understanding of how to leverage current and future platform capabilities.
NOTE: This is a hybrid position which requires the new hire to be present in the Plano, TX office at least 2 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Developing a hands-on understanding of client problems at a deep enough and granular enough level to provide actionable inputs for product direction and use case selection within your assigned product area.
- Performing requirements analysis and project decomposition activities that set engineers up to deliver value to clients efficiently and sustainably.
- Supporting leadership in vetting merger & acquisition opportunities from a technical and integration standpoint.
- Contribute to robust business cases and optimized product investments through review, analysis, and validation/challenging of business assumptions. This may include activities such as competitor and SWOT analysis.
- Leveraging a strategic partnership with AWS to evaluate technologies and solutions through a business lens to help solve known business problems and drive efficiencies.
- Championing agile product development and the continuous improvement of the product development process.
- Driving the establishment of an end-to-end vision and multi-year roadmaps for assigned product areas in partnership with architecture, product development teams, and the business.
- Tracking value delivered, product adoption, performance, and execution against the integrations and data roadmaps and adjusting roadmaps as necessary.
- Ensuring roadmaps account for and integrate dependencies across functional areas within domains.
- Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer needs and business goals and providing strategic direction to support them with technical solutions.
- Create strategic alliances with relevant stakeholders in Architecture, Engineering, Release Management, Security, and Technical & Cloud Services to surface challenges and drive efficiencies.
- Establishing and monitoring relevant product and usage metrics and providing data-informed recommendations for new investments.
- Create and validate service contracts, user scenarios, and technical requirements for multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Communicating information in User Stories that support user needs, program functions, test cases, and steps required to develop or modify systems.
- Traveling to meet users face to face and participate in research, design, and feedback sessions. At its peak, travel is expected not to exceed 25% of your time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 5 or more years of experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
- Ability to represent 'the voice of the customer' in technical discussions with architecture and engineering teams
- Expert in agile software development methodologies and practices
- Experience creating and leading product and technology presentations to internal and external senior leaders
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and become productive with them quickly
- Strong oral/written communication skills
- Working knowledge of AWS services
- Experience making build/buy/partner recommendations
- Experience working with offshore teams
