Marketing Content Specialist (Public Safety Division)
Description
The Marketing Content Specialist is responsible for providing a sophisticated approach to extensively researched and expertly written outbound and inbound content that is industry appropriate and acceptable for collateral and multifaceted campaigns for Public Safety marketing. Materials can be both technical and promotional in nature and require strong feature/benefit language while expressing the value of Tyler solutions to the customer. This role also supports other marketing program initiatives (both traditional and web-based).
The Marketing Content Specialist will have a positive impact on sales and marketing success by providing professional, accurate, informative, and well-written materials. Prospects, existing customers, investors, partners, sales personnel, and others will be influenced by or benefit from these materials. Content will be generated in an industry-appropriate, creative, and timely manner. Professionally written marketing materials raise the profile of the company by projecting a positive and polished corporate and product image.
Responsibilities
- Obtain product or service information by interviewing or requesting such information from necessary parties including internal subject matter experts or clients.
- Write product fact sheets, brochures, case studies, blog posts, newsletter articles, advertising, social media, and other material as requested by the manager.
- Develop innovative ways to communicate marketing message — including via direct mail, email, web, social media, and video at trade shows and events.
- Proactively identify opportunities for driving Tyler’s message to our marketplace in a highly impactful way.
- Continually review and update web and brochure content as product or company information changes.
- Ensure marketing messaging is consistent and drives the key messages in an impactful way.
- Distribute copy, particularly new documents, to appropriate personnel for web posting, use by sales reps, events team, etc., as necessary.
- Project manage campaigns/initiatives to ensure they are delivered in a timely manner.
- Maintain and manage project schedules, approvals and other project-related needs utilizing the Marketing Department’s online project management software.
- Evaluate content performance across resource center and other marketing channels with target audience and take a data-driven approach to iterate on content plan to reach target audience.
- Develop a crisp understanding of the buyer’s journey and identify the most effective content strategy at each stage.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years marketing communications experience
- Outstanding writing skills are required, including the ability to create impactful marketing messages demonstrated through writing samples and references
- A strong understanding of writing for a business to business or business to government audience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Knowledge of AP style
- Technology/software industry experience required; public sector experience preferred
- Experience effectively managing a variety of marketing projects and timelines
- Macintosh or PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- A good understanding of graphic applications, image/media files, social media, web, media/interactive marketing, etc.
- A positive attitude with a desire to go above and beyond expectations is key to the success of this role
The Marketing Content Specialist must be able to:
