Tyler Technologies is seeking a dynamic and motivated senior communications specialist to join our corporate communications team. The ideal candidate is passionate about writing, storytelling, and employee engagement. The role is responsible for producing clear, concise, high-quality content and developing communication and change management plans to support key company initiatives. They insist on the highest standards, providing best-in-class support to internal partners and adhering to style, voice, and brand guidelines.

As a part of Tyler’s corporate staff, you will make an impact on outcomes that affect various areas of the company. Your work will ultimately support our team members, clients, stakeholders, and the public sector.

Responsibilities

  • Produce clear, concise, and engaging content that meets communications objectives.
  • Develop and execute complex communications and change management plans, including company-wide messaging and executive communications.
  • Possess advanced judgment and discretion related to communications, asking the right questions, solving problems, and determining the best path forward.
  • Author insightful and engaging internal news stories, informational articles, and other written materials as needed.
  • Confidently engage in meetings and presentations to large audiences.
  • Research, develop, and write internal communication announcements as needed, including those related to organizational changes, executive-level retirements/promotions, human resources initiatives, etc.
  • Write scripts and coordinate video productions with the creative services team.
  • Author content on Tyler’s employee intranet.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, HR, Information Security, IT, and executive leadership. 
  • Clearly articulate complex issues and formulate recommendations that will work for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Use data to evaluate and report on communication activities and develop best practices and strategies for improvement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on AP style, Tyler style, tone, and general excellence in writing.
  • Ensure appropriate tracking, measurement, and analysis of performance against goals, and adjust where necessary as tools and trends evolve.
  • Special cross-departmental projects as directed by leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of corporate communications experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or comparable work experience
  • Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Familiar with change management methodologies
  • Ability to generate impactful messages, demonstrated through writing samples
  • Exceptional project management and time management skills
  • Technology/software industry experience
  • Ability to generate ideas, analyze information, and make decisions
  • Possess a flair for the creative
  • Knowledge of photo editing and multimedia programs
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Experience in a leadership role a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and competing timelines
