Come join Tyler Technologies as a Lead Software Engineer! The Enterprise Supervision team is looking for experienced Software Engineers to help build products and features that will enable the growth of Tyler’s Enterprise Supervision’s Case Management product.
 
The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of high-quality, scalable software solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet business needs. You will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers on the team, while also contributing to high-impact projects. The Lead Software Engineer will play a critical role in driving the technical direction of our products, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability. 
 
Note:  This is a hybrid position which requires the candidate to be in the Plano, TX office at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support scalable, high-performance, and secure applications.
  • Set technical direction for projects and ensure alignment with company goals and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Participate in analyzing, designing, writing and testing code, documenting and implementing functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems.
  • Maintain existing software solutions by resolving bugs and addressing operational issues in both current and upcoming software releases.
  • Ensure the integrity of programs, modules, and systems through comprehensive testing and strict adherence to company standards and procedures.
  • Work through all phases of the software development life cycle, including research, design, analysis, requirements, implementation, test automation, and maintenance.
  • Utilize new technologies and tools to modify products and provide integration with applications developed internally and externally.
  • Create and update documentation for Enterprise Supervision software solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of SaaS or web-based development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
  • Deep understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of architecting and delivering scalable, performant web applications.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, especially Amazon Web Services (AWS), including hands-on work with scaling and optimizing applications.
  • Expertise in modern web technologies, including JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and building Web Components.
  • Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and database technologies with an emphasis on Postgres.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
