Sales Manager, Cybersecurity Solutions
Description
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving significant revenue growth and leading a team of sales professionals focused on selling cybersecurity solutions and services. This role involves managing direct sales channels in state markets, leading a team tasked with cross-selling initiatives, building internal relationships, and external relationships executive-level relationships with public sector leaders such as state CIOs. The Sales Manager ensures the team meets or exceeds aggressive sales targets while contributing to the strategic direction of the organization's cybersecurity offerings. The Sales Manager is accountable for maximizing sales of Tyler’s Cybersecurity solutions and services in alignment with the Cybersecurity business unit’s vision and goals. This includes managing direct sales channels in state markets and leading a team that supports cross-selling initiatives to drive additional revenue.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Develops and executes a comprehensive sales strategy to expand market presence, manage direct sales channels in state markets, and achieve sales objectives.
- Team Management: Recruits, develops, and manages a high-performing sales team, ensuring they are equipped to successfully engage in direct sales and cross-selling of the organization’s solutions.
- Executive Engagement: Cultivates relationships with state-level CIOs, CISOs, and other key decision-makers to position cybersecurity solutions effectively.
- Technical Expertise: Leads high-level sales engagements with deep knowledge of cybersecurity solutions and public sector requirements.
- Market Awareness: Monitors industry trends, competitive threats, and emerging technologies to refine sales strategy.
- Cross-Selling Leadership: Oversees initiatives that enable the sales team to identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities across the organization’s broader solution portfolio.
- Contract Negotiation: Oversees pricing strategies and negotiates contracts within the guidelines established by senior management.
- Representation: Represents the organization at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings, acting as a thought leader in the cybersecurity domain.
- Performance Monitoring: Ensures the sales team meets or exceeds performance expectations and provides regular updates to senior management.
- React to changes in the market and competitive landscape.
- Demonstrate deep technical knowledge of cybersecurity and public sector solutions.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Manage a sales team tasked with achieving significant growth targets, including through cross-selling initiatives.
- Resolve day-to-day personnel issues and onboard new team members effectively.
- Navigate challenges in market penetration, customer engagement, and direct sales channel management.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing strategies within organizational parameters.
- Represent the organization professionally in all internal and external interactions.
- Travel up to 80% as needed to meet clients and attend events.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, computer science, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in cybersecurity such as CISSP, Security+, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in software and cybersecurity solution sales, with a preference for public sector experience.
- Proven success in driving double-digit revenue growth, managing direct sales channels, and leading cross-selling initiatives.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, with experience in public speaking as a plus.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, MS Office Suite, and virtual collaboration tools.
- Valid driver’s license required.
