WebMD is looking for an experienced, versatile content strategist to help develop and implement content
strategy across our consumer health verticals. The right person for this role loves marrying editorial
thinking with a content optimization and performance mindset. They are excited by the challenge of
synchronizing a large content ecosystem’s components toward readership and business goals. And they
are serious about the importance and responsibility of delivering health information and education on a
platform that serves millions of readers every week.

Key Responsibilities
- Use SEO, editorial judgment, and brand best practices to continuously improve content inventory
- Ideate unique performance-minded content that engages both broad and niche audiences
- Make research-informed data-based recommendations for content development
- Conduct competitive content analyses
- Audit content to identify engagement, SEO, and other performance improvements
- Manage multiple project components with strict attention to detail and deadlines
- Exercise independent decision-making based on modeling and best practices
- Inform and develop governance models that help teams work together on content
- Collaborate with team leaders on identifying and implementing growth strategies
- Provide guidance to adjacent teams on content strategy, best practices, and content rules

Requirements/Skills
- Four years working directly with online content, including elements of content analysis and
optimization
- At least two years working with on-page SEO, SEO tools, and best practices
- Demonstrable experience using data and specific metrics to understand content and content use,
with ability to provide data-informed judgments on strategic direction
- Direct experience working on content strategy, content operations, and/or content design
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience researching and analyzing diverse audiences and their needs
- Ability to manage processes involving multi-team workflows
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Continuous learner who is comfortable with some ambiguity in decision-making
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
-Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with additional commensurate experience
- Microsoft Office Suite, Google Office, analytics tools, SEO tools

Preferred Skills & Experience
- Background in consumer health (conditions + wellness/lifestyle)
- Journalism experience or experience with editorial content and operations strongly preferred
- Experience working with and strategizing around evergreen content
- Comfort and experience with both big picture and project-based strategy
- Ability to train peers in processes, concepts, and tools
- Experience with project/task management software (e.g. JIRA, Workfront)
- Experience with CMS/publishing
- Enthusiasm about identifying improvements and facilitating efficiency
