Tyler Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator who has ideas and likes to promote them! This is an exciting opportunity with wide scope for growth and advancement and an opportunity to show off skills. We want someone that can take in large amounts of varied information from disparate sources and use that to drive their activities. This job requires a high level of expertise in systems administration, monitoring, configuration and tuning of application servers and its various components. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine operations, monitoring and maintenance of all environments (dev, test, stage, prod).
 
Work with a group of Systems Administrators on day-to-day operations but have the ability to think and work independently as needed. Participate in cloud migration projects and be responsible for helping to identify resource requirements, design, implementation and support Cloud environments, as well as maintaining legacy systems during migration. The ability to multi-task and support environments with varying tech stacks is a definite plus.
 

Responsibilities

  • Participates in incident ticket intake and resolution of system/application issues 
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all applications, virtual hardware, server resources, systems and key processes. 
  • Reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as file transfers and backups. 
  • Possesses experience in working with application development teams.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the DevOps field. 
  • Creates instructions and establishes guidelines and procedures to perform the functions of the job.
  • Works under immediate supervision.
  • Primary job functions require exercising independent judgement and pro-active communication. 
  • Participates in on call rotation.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Systems Administration.
  • Experience administering containers, Linux and/or windows Operating Systems, both in physical and virtual environments.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience with Public Cloud- AWS or Azure, but AWS a plus.
  • SQL/database experience desired.
  • Container orchestration experience preferred.
  • Kubernetes knowledge a distinct advantage,
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using application performance monitoring tools.
  • Possess strong time management, prioritization and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of key vendor platforms, such as Github, Azure, AWS preferred.
  • Ability to read and modify basic scripts.
  • Experience in working within a project squad is necessary.
