As the Development Manager/Senior Development Manager of the Developer Reliability Engineering  team, the candidate will be a part of the team that owns and help shape the future of Developer Reliability Engineering services and solutions at Nutanix. We are creating a development environment where developers can do their best work. This involves building large scale, distributed and highly performant systems that can build and test our products. 

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about reducing friction in the engineering process at scale in a fast-paced environment.

  •         Build, Mentor and lead a team of very talented engineers to continue to build products 
  •         Ability to earn the technical respect of the engineering team.
  •         Ability to drive innovation and change. As an engineering leader, we will look to you to help plan, evolve and deliver the product.
  •         Engage with engineering teams to ensure that all product and component pipelines and tooling are compliant and driving along with Nutanix best practices
  •         Obsess over the customer and requirements

Qualifications and Experience: 

  •         10+ years of experience in developing distributed build systems
  •         3+ years managing a team of 5+ people
  •         Start-up development and/or management experience a must. Experience building and monetizing solutions from scratch a huge plus
  •         Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
  •         Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and best practices
  •         Automation in at least one scripting language

Shell (bash), ruby, python etc …

  •         Comfort with common git based source control systems

Github, gerrit, gitlab

  •         Knowledge of DevOps and/or SRE practices
  •         Time spent with distributed, big data, or complex multi tiered applications
