What You Will Do:

The Certified Surgical Technician (CST), Hybrid Room, is an allied health professional who works under the supervision of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of hybrid invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the hybrid room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. They possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, invasive and surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Duties will include direct patient care in single plane configured Hybrid Room. Staff will also float to OR and Invasive areas as needed.

What You Will Bring:

Education
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology course or “grandfathered” by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) with active certification by the NBSTSA

Experience
(2) years of experience in CT and Vascular surgery preferred

Certification & Licensures
State certification required prior to the start of employment
National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification required within 6 months of hire
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required*
*New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in the delivery of care and skills necessary to perform complex tasks required
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span required
Ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret the appropriate information needed in order to provide patient care required
Reliable means of telephone communication with hospital is required
