What You Will Do:

The Senior IT Solutions Architect ensures compliance with Enterprise Architecture standards to provide the organization with well designed, complaint, stable, and valuable highly productive IT systems to meet operational demands, limit disruptions and create opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. The Senior IT Solutions Architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards and leading practices to deliver and maintain highly effective technology-based systems. Additionally, the Senior IT Solutions Architect acts as a mentor to the team and works with enterprise teams to develop broader scope enterprise level projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
Utilizes technical expertise in applications architecture and the ongoing support of software/hardware product solutions and their implementation within healthcare environments. Gathers, analyzes, and provides requirements for architecture mappings leveraging established IT architecture and aligns with the needs of corporate business strategy. Conceptualizes and formally describes how the components of systems interact and integrate through design drawings, standards, and models for aiding and visualizing solutions and the impact of any changes. Works with operational and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to architect clinical and business system requirements to support healthcare operations. Works with a support team in the design, development, and delivery of healthcare architectures specific to clinical or business operational needs. Assembles and participates in multidisciplinary teams. Maintains a balanced approach between technology and strategic focused solutions and approaches. Works with customer resources, component services, and agencies to develop an end-to-end integrated architecture. Provides expertise for utilizing adopted architecture framework(s) that will enable tightly coupled clinical / business systems integration. Analyzes new and existing solutions to identify opportunities for improvement. Contributes to organizational architecture knowledge by providing building blocks and constructs that contribute to enterprise architecture standards. Understands and applies knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to establish leading practice-based solutions. Ensures application architecture groups deliver robust system solutions to business. Consults and acts on application lifecycle management needs. Works within project management process to provide relevant work breakdown structure elements and contributes to the project lifecycle for realization of timely and effective results. Provides advice and make decisions about which technologies would be suitable to use for various projects. Assists with budgets and the collections of solution related cost details. Communicates the benefits, risks, and application to customer initiatives. Works as a highly accountable and active participant within project teams. Utilizes and communicates architectural policies, standards, guidelines and procedures. Designs solutions that maximize positive influence on upstream and downstream processes, such as incident and problem management. Analyzes technologies, industries, and market trends and makes recommendations for innovative approaches to solving business and technical problems. Works within strategic parameters established with business leaders to meet the needs of technology plans for their business units. Assists business unit leaders with technology direction and selection. Participates in the training and evangelism of the architecture principles to the IT Organization. Maintains understanding of how individual work and decisions fit into the broader organizational. A technical level position. Intense client, vendor, and staff interactions and communications required. Critical dependency upon all types of communications including routine oral and written, presentations and other forms of IT and client interactions. Responsible for preparation and management of documentation needed for the successful technical execution of technology-enabled projects. Communicates well with all levels of staff within Valley Health. Working conditions primarily are normal office environment with moderate travel to affiliate locations. Acts as a mentor to Solutions Architect team. Design and lead the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategies, capabilities and requirements. Manage and develop the architecture for a broader scope of projects, working closely with other stakeholders that manage and design architecture for a single project or initiative.

What You Will Bring:

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field required.

Experience
(10) years of hands-on solution experience required.
(10) years of experience in design and development of information systems required.
Years of related experience must include information technology experience primarily in healthcare.
Healthcare knowledge and experience working in a healthcare IT environment preferred.
Requires strong technical, development background in either Services or Engineering.
Experience developing applications on top of platforms.
IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure designs and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
Working experience and understanding of Enterprise Architecture best practices frameworks and standards (e.g. TOGAF)
Ability to travel overnight on occasion.
Ability to deal with stress and occasional long hours is essential.

Certification & Licensures
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) required
IT Architect Certification (ITAC) based on job required
Certified in the area of specialty within assignment required

Qualifications
Working knowledge of hospitals and healthcare industry required.
Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to present technical findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Proven leadership ability and strong team contributor.
Knowledge of multiple components of enterprise architecture, business engineering and design principles with a basic knowledge of financial models and planning.
