What You Will Do:

At Valley Pharmacy, our patients come first. A successful pharmacist on our team will help us provide a top notch experience to the patients we serve. Our team is focused on providing safe, affordability, and high quality care. As a Pharmacist on our team, you have an important role in contributing to building our team environment, demonstrating our values, and providing compassionate care to our patients. In addition to supporting the Lead Pharmacist in leading and directing our team, you will be looked to for management support and oversight of the operation of all aspects of pharmacy. The pharmacist on our team will receive prescriptions and work for the patient to assure medication appropriateness, accuracy, and necessary documentation. This role will counsel and instruct patients on medications received and assure medication compliance. This individual will also provide drug information and advise prescribers and their staff as required. The pharmacist will observe appropriate standards of care and adhere to federal and state regulations while working to minimize dispensing errors by accurately verifying the order against what was received. The pharmacist will function in a supervisory role by consistently encouraging and coaching support staff and will display professional conduct at all times to create a work environment that fosters intellectual growth. The pharmacist has leadership duties on the team and must assist other pharmacy team members when needed and remain approachable and helpful. The pharmacist will participate in performance improvement processes by offering suggestions and accepting/promoting agreed upon changes. The pharmacist will participate in staff meetings, stay abreast of pharmacy related clinical and regulatory changes, and report variations of usual pharmacy practice.

What You Will Bring:

Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy required.

Experience
Experience in retail pharmacy preferred.

Certification & Licensures
Virginia Pharmacy License required (or acquired within 90 days of hire)

Qualifications
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interpret the appropriate information needed in order to provide care for the age group of patients served.
