Job Overview:

Animal Care Assistants (ACAs) assist veterinarians and technicians in the care of animals, and as such, are a vital part of our veterinary team! Applicants must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, a strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Checking-in & discharging patients
  • Getting weights & histories on patients prior to exams
  • Educating clients on procedures, vaccine protocols, veterinary products, & post-operative care
  • Restraining animals for vaccinations & blood draws
  • Prepping animals for surgery
  • Monitoring recovering animals
  • Cleaning & repacking surgical instruments
  • Cleaning holding kennels & cages
  • Pursuing significant on-the-job training

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Obligations:

  • Endure standing, kneeling, & bending for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs. independently
  • Willing to work in noisy conditions
  • Able to endure all weather conditions to communicate with clients outside of clinic
