San Diego Pet Hospital is seeking a Medical Director to lead their team.

We are an established general practice in Lemon Grove, San Diego with loyal and dedicated clients and an educated and compassionate support team.  We provide exceptional care to our patients, and the people who love them. Progressive medicine including surgery, digital radiology, ultrasound, preventative, lab work and more.  

  

We are located in Lemon Grove, a suburb of San Diego, and is the longest continuously operating animal clinic in all of San Diego, established in 1942. We have a well-equipped facility with a devoted and highly skilled staff who value Fear-Free and Feline Friendly practices. We have a passion for supporting an emotionally intelligent atmosphere with a culture that understands the importance of a great work/life balance!  

  

What you’ll Do 

As the head of your hospital, you’ll have the guidance and resources to excel as a leader. This includes access to a Medical Initiatives Committee to become stronger and more equipped to develop your practice.  

  

We are seeking an experienced, open, and approachable Veterinarian who is interested in developing as a leader.

Who we are looking for 

  • Has commitment to practicing excellent patient care. 
  • Understands and applies the importance of the client experience. 
  • Has proficient skills in medicine, surgery, and dentistry. 
  • Keep current on new products and medical protocols. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate electronic medical records and regularly audit those of other doctors. 
  • Coordinate and disseminate Continuing Education for the doctor and medical team.

Experience & Skills Requirements 

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
  • State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an annual PROSAL range starting at $140,000 / year. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
