Job Summary:  

Thrive is looking for a Senior Accountant of Financial Reporting to join a growing team. The position is responsible for external reporting, and other ad hoc reporting as required.  The position will also be responsible for certain complex accounting functions including acquisitions & divestitures (including earnouts), goodwill, intangibles, and various annual impairment analyses. The staff will partner with Thrive management work with external auditors and various advisors and support strategic projects by coordinating data requests and providing technical accounting analysis. The role will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting.

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Assist the Manager of Financial Reporting and Director in various aspects of the monthly close, including preparing financial statements, cash flows, and other internal reporting
  • Assist in the management of analysis, processes, and accounting related to the Company’s A&D activity and related general ledger journal entries;
  • Manage goodwill and intangibles activity in the general ledger, including analysis related to acquisitions and impairment;
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for various general ledger accounts of responsibility, including intangibles amortization, post-close settlement activity, and earnout adjustments;
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and related footnotes for the Company’s annual report;
  • Interact with Thrive’s external auditors and review schedules for the year-end reporting process;
  • Work with the accounting and finance functions to prepare reporting for forecasting, compliance, board presentations, investor requests, and ad hoc analysis;
  • Work on special projects involving improvement or enhancements of the accounting system and internal control; and
  • Assist the Manager of Financial Reporting and Director in various tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: 
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
  • CPA required (or current candidate actively sitting for CPA exam)
  • 3+ years of a combination of public accounting and industry experience 
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and internal controls 
  • High level of organization and the ability to prioritize tasks 
  • Highly collaborative and communicative team player; positive and considerate 
  • The ability to pay attention to details and multi-task 
  • Workday experience a plus 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
