Position at Smith Veterinary Hospital

Smith Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time Housekeeper to join the team! 

Pay: from $15/hr
Schedule: Mon-Friday 9am-6pm NO Weekends!

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrating excellent and compassionate relations with clients/patients in waiting area, exam rooms, and on the treatment floor
  • Ensuring the veterinary facility is kept clean and orderly at all times
  • Conducting one’s self in a professional, and team-oriented manner
Providing general housekeeping duties which include:
  • Sweeping/mopping of the entire hospital, especially in high traffic areas such as lobby, exam rooms, treatment area, hallways, and radiology. This needs to be done a MINIMUM twice per shift.
  • Sanitizing high traffic areas every two hours: door handles, keyboards, phones, railings, bathrooms, lobbies
  • Areas that clients are able to see need to have priority. The lobby, exam rooms, and treatment area, need to be cleaned as needed, which may include: frequent sweeping/mopping, cleaning of tables and seating areas, and emptying of trash
  • Cleaning of feces in the outdoor runs must be done as least once per shift
  • Washing, folding, and stocking all the bedding used in the hospital, a good rule of thumb is to have the washer and dryer going at all times, as the hospital tends to have a constant need for bedding changes
  • Washing all soiled dishes, litter boxes, and other various items used in a veterinary facility, and storing them in their proper place
  • Emptying trash from all the trash bins located within the hospital, some may require more frequent changes
  • Cleaning of all bathrooms, includes emptying the trash, and sweeping/mopping
  • Performing more “Deep cleaning” on a monthly basis-See cleaning checklist for details
  • Stocking of supplies such as paper products throughout the hospital, gauze/cotton balls in all the exam rooms and on the treatment floor, changing out soap/hand sanitizer dispensers as needed, and if necessary, various medical supplies used
